Under cover

Coming into ‘monsoon season‘ here, we wanted to make sure the yurt was trimmed out appropriately with a stylish and functional rain awning. Ben and I examined a few different places to harvest precious rainwater with this tarp and barrel rigging, but we ultimately decided to kill two birds with one stone, as they say, by creating the front door rain cover AND a catchment all in one.

The tarp is run-of-the-mill as are our knot-tying skills, so we’ll see how this thing holds up to the gusty canyon winds.    Would be nice for it to hold up and catch a little something with this kind of forecast!!

Closing out the day, we decided to crack a bottle once we realized were going to lose some prime sunset sky viewing area with this configuration. Thanks to Ron and Paula for the libations!!

No filter, but the camera definitely made its own interpretation… Pretty close, though.
